A warm reddish brown coloured spice from dried aromatic tree bark, used as strips or ground into powder. It is native to Sri Lanka and is popular among many Souteast Asian countries.
Not only is it used in Indian Cuisine but it is commonly used as a baking spice, in cakes, cookies, and desserts throughout the world.
